Happy summer training

After two weeks after the Open5+ resting a bruised knee, it's been hard not being able to enjoy the summer to the full, so the last ten days have been great in terms of restoring my sanity. With only two weeks left until the Open12, I've been spending my time sharpening up my speed for the adventures to come.

While I'm confident of my endurance after a solid winter of training and racing, the strength and speed take a little more specific work. I've been out swimming in Crummock, biking round Whinlatter with Kim in the evenings, turning up to the local O races for the first time in ages and having a good run (though not quite on Steve B's heels), and last night riding my first road time trial since last year - and setting a PB! Along with riding evening MTBO races with Alice, that's what summer is all about.

My focus is on balance and not overdoing anything either, as July goes like this (and if anyone has any tips on how to recover between long efforts get in touch!):

Open12 - weekend off - Ironman Switzerland - weekend off - Open24
